Newborn Care Specialists
Take the time you need to rest and recuperate from childbirth. Our newborn care specialists in the Toronto area are here overnight or around the clock to help lighten the load and create a smooth transition of baby into the family. We help care for your baby and work with you to create a eat-sleep routine that will encourage proper growth and development for years to come.
How does it work?
We match you with a newborn care specialist in the Greater Toronto Area based on your needs and timing requirements. The specialist gets to know your family and creates a custom plan you’re comfortable with. They provide support with tasks like bathing, feeding, swaddling, and provide full baby care at night so that you can rest. When your baby is hungry, newborn care specialists facilitate feeding so that you can quickly go back to sleep. They help you work through new problems like acid reflux or tongue tie when they arise. They establish a sleep and eat routine as the baby grows, setting you up with the knowledge and tools you need to thrive even after they’re gone.

“Rose was with us the day we came home from the hospital with our newborn twins. She taught us so much about caring for our tiny newborns and was always full of wonderful and practical advice. By the time Rose left us after four weeks, our babies were sleeping six hours straight through the night. What a wonderful gift!!! Rose inspires confidence and trust from the moment you meet her.”

Commonly Asked Questions
What is a newborn care specialist?
Our newborn care specialists help parents in the early stages of their newborn’s development. As an individual trained and skilled in newborn care, they provide unique expertise in all aspects of newborn care, parental education and support. They calm your fears, support you, and cheer you on.
Is this the same as a night nurse or doula?
A doula focuses on supporting the mother before, during and after childbirth, whereas we provide support by focusing on newborn care. We’ve found that this approach is most helpful for mothers as we help empower, educate, establish healthy habits, and give parents time to focus on healing. We know that when the baby does well, so does the rest of the household.
A newborn care specialist has the same function as a night nurse. We choose to use the name “newborn care specialist” because only a Registered Nurse is legally allowed to use the title of “night nurse” in Canada. We do have Registered Nurses on staff who specialize in newborn care. Visit our “Other Services” page to learn more.

Our Toronto newborn care specialists, as well as those located further afield, work a minimum of 10 hours nightly. We’re here to work around your schedule. Tell us what your needs are and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.Who is this service for?
New parents and parents of multiples. Newborn care specialists fill an essential role, because your baby is their number one priority.
