Practical (and judgment-free) advice on caring for your newborn from the baby pros

What does a postpartum doula do?

When you’re busy being a mother, a postpartum doula is there to “mother the mother.” She cares, assists, supports and educates the mother in the early days of bringing the baby home. She also supports the whole family by smoothing the transition of having a newborn added to the family. Her main focus is to make things easier for the mother; like taking care of siblings and running errands. Her knowledge on caring for mother and baby is extensive and is carried out with love and care.

Who would benefit from a postpartum doula?

A postpartum doula is great for any mom, but especially for moms who do not have close family and friends nearby to help them out. Mothers need rest and time to recuperate and enjoy quality time with their baby. A postpartum doula works with the mother to give her as much rest as possible.
